The International Conference on Assessment Administration is the premier platform to share successes, discover best practices and learn from expert colleagues the latest research in the field of property appraisal. Conference attendees are given the opportunity to interact with peers from across the country as well as around the globe. The 2020 Annual Conference will be held August 30 - September 1 as a virtual conference.

Legal Seminar

The IAAO 41st Annual Legal Seminar will be held in Austin, Texas on December 3-4, 2020 and will cover legal topics of interest to members of the assessment and property tax industry.

GIS/Valuation Technologies Conference

In recognition of the growing health risks worldwide posed by the Coronavirus (COVID-19), the IAAO and URISA cancelled the 2020 GIS\Valuation Technologies Conference.

The Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA) and IAAO annually partner together to present the GIS/Valuation Technologies Conference, which assists assessment and appraisal professionals in visualizing how they can work more effectively through the use of technology. This conference explores the important role that integration of Geographic Information System (GIS) and Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) systems plays in providing access to data and analysis of information for better decision making within a jurisdiction. The 2021 Conference is scheduled for March 15-18 in New Orleans.

Emerging Leadership Summit

Based on recommendations by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and after consultation with the Cook County Assessor's Office, the International Association of Assessing Officers has postponed the 2020 Emerging Leadership Summit, originally scheduled for April 2-3 in Chicago at the Cook County Offices.

The Emerging Leadership Summit (ELS) is designed to provide a powerful professional development opportunity for emerging leaders who have a desire to advance their careers in the assessment industry.

International Research Symposium

In recognition of the growing health risks and the Coronavirus (COVID-19) travel restrictions around the world, IAAO has cancelled the 2020 International Research Symposium, originally set for May 13-15 in Copenhagen, Denmark. 

The International Research Symposium is an annual event offering an exploration of the intersection of public policy and mass appraisal standards, guidance, and implementation challenges. The Symposium offers an exchange of knowledge and emerging technology trends for continuous improvement of land administration and property tax systems world-wide.

Prep & Trial Seminar

The 2020 Preparation and Trial of the Property Tax Appeal Seminar has been cancelled but IAAO is working on hosting the seminar in 2021 in Des Moines, Iowa, on the campus of Drake University. The mock trial was scheduled to feature a case involving a big-box store and IAAO will work to have the 2021 seminar also feature that case.
