Chicago Hyatt Regency hosting all key conference events

From the Welcome Reception on Sunday to the Closing Banquet on Wednesday night, all key conference events will take place in one location this year, the Hyatt Regency Chicago. Attendees are welcome to explore beyond the Hyatt, but in Chicago, as in any big city, be aware of your surroundings, and make sure you know where you are going. For questions or directions, the hotel concierge is a local expert and is ready to help you find options to meet your needs and address any questions you may have.

In addition there are a number of business in the pedway connected to the hotel allows you access to a number of businesses without having to step outside.

Regarding getting around Chicago safely, the following comments from Choose Chicago regarding safety in the city of Chicago during the IAAO Annual Conference.

The Chicago Police Department works closely with Choose Chicago to provide a safe experience for visitors and 3 million residents of our vibrant city.  The Chicago Police Department also remains in regular contact with Choose Chicago and convention hotels to review information and security plans for conference activities. In the interest of public safety, the Chicago Police Department is also in constant contact with its state, federal and international partners to evaluate and respond to any changes in intelligence.  Chicago police officers will be highly visible throughout your event. 

The more than 12,000 men and women on the Chicago Police Department actively patrol the city’s neighborhoods and ensure our streets are safe. Chicago is the proud home to hundreds of meetings and conventions annually and the Chicago Police Department, Office of Emergency Management and other city entities remain dedicated to delivering an inspiring and safe experience for our visitors.  The Chicago Police Department is constantly reviewing and monitoring events to ensure the appropriate resources are in place to protect public safety - from the moment your attendees land at our two international airports until they leave, the safety and security of Chicago’s visitors are our top priority. 

In addition to the Chicago Police Department’s District Patrol personnel that work in the downtown area and in the Central Business District, their Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) focuses on these high-trafficked areas.  The police districts that cover the downtown area and the supplement of the CIRT work 24/7 to protect residents, businesses and visitors. The Chicago Police Department has open communication with our business community, making sure they are aware of what’s happening around them and the actions taken by the Chicago Police Department to ensure their safety. 

Chicago Travel Order

For attendees traveling to Chicago, the city updated their travel order and currently 39 states and 3 territories are on the restrictive list. Unvaccinated visitors traveling from those states are advised to have a negative test result no more than 72 hours prior to arrival, or quarantine for a 10-day period. The travel order is updated every other Tuesday.
