Path in the Woods is conference charity
The charitable contribution for this year’s IAAO conference will go to
The Path in the Woods Foundation. The foundation honors the memory of Daniel McCabe of Wellesley, MA. A more complete write-up is in the April edition of the
Fair+Equitable magazine, but the foundation was started, and is designed to help, young people find their path in the world.
Some teenagers find it straightforward, and others struggle to find something right for them. Dan was the son of Donna and Gary McCabe, long-time Massachusetts assessors and members of the IAAO. Dan took his life in 2007, and Donna and Gary created the foundation to help other kids like Dan find their way.
Because of both the spirit of the foundation, and the closeness of the Massachusetts assessing community to Gary and Donna, this charitable foundation is near and dear to the hearts of all assessors. We want children to know they have a place to go to for help. We sincerely hope you will take the time to reflect on this need and help us in raising money for this cause.
