Reminder – virtual seminar soon

Technology and assessment issues around the world will be a major focus of the upcoming virtual Mass Appraisal Valuation Symposium, presented by IAAO and the International Property Tax Institute (IPTI) on June 25-26. The registration deadline is June 19.

Sessions include using artificial intelligence in assessment, mass appraisal, golf course appraisal, AI and Automated Valuation Models, and the impact of natural disasters on property values. In addition, sessions on appraisal issues from around the developed and developing world, including involving Philadelphia and Cook County in the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Poland, South Africa, and Singapore. The symposium, covering “Future Opportunities for Mass Appraisal,” will be offered virtually, and the program will have eight topic areas and individual sessions under each area. The topic areas are:

  • Mass appraisal I & II
  • Use of technology in valuation
  • Technology and innovation
  • Data quality and other challenges
  • Property tax administration
  • Leadership issues
  • Other matters of interest

Registration fees are $225 USD for IAAO and IPTI members outside of Canada, and for groups of five or more from the same nonmember organizations. Rates for IAAO and IPTI members in Canada are $325 CAD. Nonmember rates are $290 USD for those outside of Canada and $415 CAD for Canadian nonmember registrants. The registration deadline is June 19.

The symposium sessions have been approved for 12 continuing education hours by IAAO, 10 by the Alberta Assessors’ Association, and 9.5 by the Institute of Municipal Assessors.
