Justin Eimers

Assessment Advisor

Justin Eimers, AAS, RMA serves as an Assessment Advisor for the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO). In this role Mr. Eimers supports IAAO members, the public and staff with various assessment-related requests and projects including completing reviews of jurisdictions from Europe to Texas and many in between. He also cohosts a monthly podcast titled “Assessing the Situation”.

Mr. Eimers previously served as the appointed County Appraiser for Miami County, Kansas. Before that he spent time as an expert witness for the Johnson County Appraisers Office testifying on commercial real estate appeals at the Kansas Board of Tax Appeals, was a valuation analyst and valued all types of real estate.

Mr. Eimers has been a member of IAAO since 2010. Since that time he has been a presenter and moderator at IAAO’s conferences. Mr. Eimers has served in various roles in his local IAAO chapter including President of the Kansas City Chapter of IAAO. He has also served as a member of IAAO’s Nominating Committee, was a member of IAAO’s Mach Legislative Task Force and is an IAAO instructor. He currently serves as Staff Liaison for both the Property Tax Challenge White Paper Task Force and the Valuation of Data Center Facilities Task Force.

Mr. Eimers holds the Assessment Administration Specialist (AAS) designation from IAAO and the Registered Mass Appraiser (RMA) designation from the Property Valuation Division of the Kansas Department of Revenue.

Before working in the assessment industry, Mr. Eimers earned a Bachelor of Science in Economics and minored in Business Administration at Kansas State University.
