The fifth edition of Assessment Practices: Self-Evaluation Guide is to be used by jurisdictions to prepare their
submissions to the International Association of Assessing Officers (IAAO) in pursuit of the Certificate of
Excellence in Assessment Administration (CEAA). It is also useful to other jurisdictions seeking to employ
“best practices” in assessment administration.

The Guide provides a framework for systematically examining assessment operations in the light of best practices
in assessment administration. When opportunities for improvement are revealed, the Guide can be used to
develop an improvement program.
