EagleView: July 30 – The Virtual Assessor

The role of the assessor is evolving. Assessment professionals are being asked to modernize outdated workflows, reduce field visits, and defend assessments in the face of growing appeals, all while upholding fairness and compliance with standards.  But limited resources and inconsistent property data make this a daunting task.

Fortunately, new tools are emerging to meet the moment. Artificial intelligence and high-resolution aerial imagery are enabling assessors to detect sketch discrepancies, identify property changes, and classify land cover – all from the office. This combination of technology is creating a new model: the virtual assessor.
