GIS, technology, data, and valuation issues among topics at upcoming virtual MAVS

GIS, technology, data, and valuation issues are among the topics at the upcoming virtual Mass Appraisal Valuation Symposium, set for June 21-22.

 

The online program kicks off with a keynote presentation by Kathy Gillis, Chief Executive Officer of the Property Valuation Services Corporation, which provides property assessment services to Nova Scotia’s (Canada) municipalities and property owners. Gillis is speaking as part of the first session which touches on the theme of the symposium, "Valuing Properties in Uncertain Times."

 

The symposium, sponsored by Tyler Technologies, will have eight topic areas and individual sessions under each area. The program areas are listed below, and individual sessions are listed in the brochure.

Registration fees are $199 USD for IAAO and IPTI members outside of Canada, and for groups of five or more from the same nonmember organizations. Rates for IAAO and IPTI members in Canada are $270 CAD. Nonmember rates are $264 USD for those outside of Canada and $360 CAD for Canadian nonmember registrants. The symposium registration deadline is June 16.

IAAO has approved the symposium sessions for 11.5 continuing education hours. The Alberta Assessor's Association approved for 10 learning hours, the Institute of Municipal Assessors approved for 9.5 learning hours and one general hour, and RICS approved for 10 CPD hours.
