Registration open for Annual Conference in Salt Lake City
Conference registration and hotel reservations for the 2023 IAAO Annual Conference, Aug. 27-30 in Salt Lake City are now open.
The IAAO Annual Conference is the premier platform to share successes,
discover best practices, and learn about the latest research in the
field of property appraisal.
Online registration for the in-person conference is open and a paper registration form
is also available to download. The Annual Conference will take place at
the Salt Palace Convention Center in Salt Lake City and nearby hotels
are available.

Conference Fees
Conference registration fees are available on the conference page
on the IAAO website. The Early Bird registration deadline is Saturday,
July 15. After that date registration rates increase to the regular rate
until Friday, Aug. 11. After Aug. 11 fees will be at the onsite rate.
Attendees also can sign up for the optional Wednesday WIN luncheon and
the Sunday Workshop 191.

Keynote and Plenary speakers
Alyson Van Hooser, author of the books “Infinite Influence” and “Level Up” and
inspirational speaker on leading in the future of work, will be the
keynote speaker at the Annual Conference. She will present during the
Conference’s Opening Session on Monday, Aug. 28. As a trusted resource
for managing and leading people, her management experience with Walmart,
her leadership experience in the banking and insurance industry, and
her election to a city council — all by the age of 30 — equip her to
relate authentically with the challenges leaders are facing.
LaVaughn Henry, Ph.D., a senior economist for the Council of Economic Advisors in the Executive
Office of the President of the United States will be the plenary
speaker on Tuesday, Aug. 29. In his role at the Council, he is
responsible for analyzing banking and other macroeconomic issues, and
aiding in the writing of the 2020 Economic Report of the President.
Previously, he served as a policy analyst in the Banking and Regulatory
Policy Section at the FDIC. He assisted in the interpretation, analysis,
proposal, and drafting of policy guidelines; existing and proposed
statutes and regulations; and studies, including the Federal Deposit
Insurance Act, FDIC rules and regulations, the National Bank Act, and
other relevant depository institution laws.
Melody Taylor, an official with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development,
and Executive Director of the Interagency Taskforce on Property
Appraisal and Valuation Equity (PAVE), is slated to speak at the
conference on Wednesday, Aug. 30. Taylor serves as the Associate Deputy
Assistant Secretary of Enforcement Compliance in the Office of Fair
Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO) for the U.S. Department of Housing
and Urban Development. She serves FHEO in implementing programs and
policies in all matters relating to fair housing, economic opportunity,
civil rights, and nondiscrimination in the implementation of HUD
programs.
Conference Sessions
More than 60 sessions
will be offered at the conference. Full details, including session
titles, times, and speakers will be available soon on Research Exchange.
In-person attendees will have the opportunity to earn up to 12.5 credit
hours. Seven additional CE hours are available for preconference
Workshop 191: 7-Hour USPAP, which is $229 for members and $339 for
nonmembers.
Golf Outing
The IAAO Local Host
Task Force and the Utah Chapter of the IAAO are planning the annual golf
tournament on Sunday, August 27. The Utah Chapter of the IAAO
will handle registration for the golf outing. Links will be available on
the IAAO website in the Conference section.
