Conference: Know Before You Go
The IAAO Annual
Conference, Aug. 27-30 in Salt Lake City, is only days away. Educational
sessions, networking opportunities, and chances to see the latest in
technology from several business partners await.
More than 1,300 people are expected to be in Salt Lake City for the 89th IAAO Annual Conference.

Everything attendees
need to know for the conference can be found on the IAAO Annual
Conference Mobile App. Registered attendees recently received an email
with a download link, or you can download the app directly from the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. The app name is “Cvent Events,” and the 2023 IAAO Annual Conference is an event in the app.
Registration
The registration desk will be open at the Salt Palace Convention Center
from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 27. Attendees will want to stop
by the registration desk to retrieve their badges as well as their
conference bags, which contains important materials for a successful
conference. Remember to bring your badge and drink ticket to Sunday's Welcome Reception and Monday's Exhibit Hall Happy Hour.
First-timer? Or need a refresher?
Join us from 4 to 4:45 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27 in Room 150G in the Salt
Palace Convention Center for a fun and entertaining orientation.
Welcome Reception: 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 27
Attend the Welcome Reception at the Hyatt Regency AB Ballroom and
enjoy a taste of Utah. Bluegrass music, "campfires," photo
opportunities of the region, s'mores, and a limited number of campfire
blankets will be available. Remember to bring your badge and drink
ticket, provided when you pick up your badge.
Opening Session
The conference will kick off with the Opening Session
at 8 a.m., Monday, Aug. 28, in Ballroom A-F at the convention center.
Alyson Van Hooser, author of the books “Infinite Influence” and “Level
Up” and inspirational speaker on leading in the future of work, will be
the keynote speaker.
Exhibit Hall and Park Pass Contest
The Exhibit Hall Grand Opening will take place Monday at 11:30 a.m. in Hall C.
Lunch will be available in the exhibit hall on Monday and Tuesday, and
an Exhibit Hall Happy Hour will take place from 4 to 5 p.m. on Monday.
Stop by exhibitors
listed on the Happy Hour Ticket Hosts page in the mobile app for an
extra drink ticket for Monday's Happy Hour.
The Exhibit Hall this
year will feature a tribute to 16 state and national parks in the
region. Eight of the 16 sites will be featured in the Exhibit Hall each
day. Attendees can stop by the banners for each site and scan their
badges to be entered in a contest to win an iPad Pro.
Designees' Lounge
IAAO
will offer a Professional Designees' Lounge again this year for
attendees who have achieved the AAS, CAE, CMS, MAS, PPS, or RES
designations. The lounge will provide an opportunity to interact
with other designees and be open Monday and Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 5
p.m., and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is also a reception for
designees on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. The lounge and reception will be in
Room 151G in the convention center.
Yoga
Yoga
classes will take place from 6 to 6:30 a.m. on Monday, Tuesday, and
Wednesday at the Hyatt Regency Sundance Terrace. Yoga mats will be
provided to all pre-registrants but you can bring a towel and join in.
Closing Banquet
The Closing Banquet
will be Wednesday night from 6 to 8 p.m. in Grand Ballroom. Stop by
before for a photo and stay late to enjoy dancing after the banquet.
Arriving in Salt Lake City: Travel to hotels
Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is
located four miles west of Downtown Salt Lake City. Public
transportation from the Salt Lake City airport to downtown Salt Lake
City is provided by the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) via light rail on the green line. More information is available on the airport website.
Salt Lake City International Airport offers ground transportation
options for all types of passengers. Traditional ground transportation,
limousines, hotel shuttles, and transportation network companies service
the airport.
