GIS/CAMA Conference

The Urban and Regional Information Systems Association (URISA) and IAAO partner together to present the GIS/CAMA Technology Conference, which assists assessment and appraisal professionals in visualizing how they can work more effectively through the use of technology. This conference explores the important role that integration of Geographic Information System (GIS) and Computer Assisted Mass Appraisal (CAMA) systems plays in providing access to data and analysis of information for better decision making within a jurisdiction. The 2019 Conference is scheduled for February 25-28, 2019 in Portland, Oregon.

International Research Symposium

The International Association of Assessing Officers will present the 12th International Research Symposium, April 5-6, 2018 in Prague, Czech Republic. The IAAO International Research Symposium is an annual event offering an exploration of the intersection of public policy and mass appraisal standards, guidance, and implementation challenges. Prep & Trial Seminar

The Preparation and Trial of the Property Tax Assessment Appeal Seminar seminar takes place every two years and consists of morning programs that set the stage for a mock trial. The Legal Committee is presenting a new case in 2016 based on an actual trial which either has been appealed or is under appeal. The 2018 Seminar will take place June 7-8 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Legal Seminar

The Legal Seminar offers the unique perspective of members who are primarily involved in legal issues. The seminar presents substantive and procedural developments in law that affect assessments and valuation. Sessions include: Case Law Updates, Assessment Etiquette, Handling Expert Witnesses, Insights on Ethical Dilemmas, Ethics and Public Policy Questions, IAAO Standard on Personal Property, and a wide variety of other topics. The 2018 Legal Seminar is set for December 13-14 in Chicago, IL.
