The 2016 IAAO International Research Symposium  will offer an exploration of the intersection of public policy and mass appraisal standards, guidance, and implementation challenges.

The focus will be on the exchange of knowledge for continuous improvement of property tax systems.

Recertification Credit

IAAO professional designees will earn 11.25 hours of recertification credit. If you are participating in other recertification and continuing education programs, please bring the forms or letters to the seminar. We cannot guarantee that the credits will be honored by other entities. Anyone seeking continuing education credit will need to submit their request as an individual.

Optional - IAAO’s Standard on Mass Appraisal of Real Property

Prior to the Symposium, on Sunday, September 18 IAAO will present a one-day forum covering the Standard on Mass Appraisal of Real Property. Students will be exposed to the standard through a combination of lecture and PowerPoint presentation of its salient points.

In the course of the forum students will be exposed to the similarities in and differences between single property appraisal and mass appraisal as well as the best practices in the areas of data collection, data entry, valuation, and quality control. A series of illustrative case studies will be used to supplement the written standard, all of which will be included in the student reference manual.

Cost of the one day forum is $325 for members and $375 for nonmembers, or $200 for members and $250 for nonmembers if purchased with the symposium.
