IAAO would like to thank all those who have agreed to speak at the 82nd Annual International Conference on Assessment Administration, August  28 – 31, 2016 at the Tampa Bay Convention Center in Tampa, Florida.  The IAAO Executive Board and the Conference Content Subcommittee greatly appreciate the time and efforts to ensure that this year’s conference provides professional and engaging educational sessions.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING IMPORTANT DATES AND DEADLINES

BY MAY 2, 2016

Please provide biographical information for your introduction.  Submission must be limited to 1,200 characters.  It is suggested that the short biography be developed in Word, then cut and pasted into the form provided.  All presenters in each session should submit a biographical summary. The primary presenter is each session will have provided this information when submitting the Call for Presentations and will not need to re-submit the information.

BY MAY 2, 2016

Complete the Presenter Letter of Agreement. This document allows IAAO to place your presentation and/or paper on the conference proceedings which are made available to all attendees. Agreement to present at the conference implies this release unless otherwise arranged.  Each presenter in a session should complete the Presenter Letter of Agreement. The primary presenter submitting the Call for Presentations has already submitted the Presenter Letter of Agreement and does not need to re-submit. 

BY JULY 28, 2016

Submit an electronic copy of your fully developed presentation and an accompanying narrative or paper.  Presenters should use the provided PowerPoint slide template for their visual presentation. Instructions for use of the template will be available. Presentations should be submitted at iaaoorg@gmail.com. The template and instructions are posted on the Slide Presentation page. 

Again in 2016, attendees will be able to access conference proceedings upon arrival at the conference via the mobile app/website. The proceedings will contain presentations received by the July 28 deadline. PRESENTATIONS MUST BE RECEIVED BY JULY 28 TO BE INCLUDED IN THE CONFERENCE PROCEEDINGS.

By July 28, 2016, inform IAAO of any special room set up or audio visual requirements for your presentation, by contacting Leann Ritter (ritter@iaao.org). Standard for education session rooms will be:
  • Podium with microphone
  • Lavaliere microphone
  • Laptop computer with PowerPoint
  • LCD projector with remote control
  • Laser pointer

NOTE: Session rooms will not have internet access unless required and arranged for in advance.

PRESENTERS SHOULD REGISTER FOR CONFERENCE*
All presenters are expected to register for the conference.  The IAAO Executive Board has approved a discounted rate of $200 off the regular posted rate for up to three presenters per session. Other discounted rates (e.g. vendors) take precedence.

*Presenters participating only in their own session can indicate such on the hard copy registration form and no fee will apply. Presenters receiving a discounted registration fee are expected to meet all deadlines (May 2 for biographical and Proceedings Release submission and July 28 for submission of the full presentation) or the full conference fee may be assessed.

To register for the conference online click here then click on the “Login to Register” button.  Applicable speaker discounted registration rates will appear. To register via hard copy form click here and complete the registration form in the attendee brochure. Write in a rate of $200 off the current applicable rate (time frame and member or nonmember) and write “Speaker” below the rate. Registration fees increase after July 15th.

Scholarships for conference attendance may be available and more information is available on the website.

IN JULY

Presenters will be provided the name and contact information of a session moderator. This person will lend support to the logistics of the session including providing introductions and helping to lead any question/answer period.

AUGUST 28-31 (at the Conference)

PLAN TO CHECK IN 30 MINUTES BEFORE YOUR SESSION. Conference Content Subcommittee Track Managers will be in the Speaker Ready Room, Room 2 at the Tampa Bay Convention Center, to greet you and provide any last minute instructions or changes.

REMEMBER TO BRING AN ELECTRONIC COPY OF YOUR PRESENTATION ON A FLASH DRIVE FOR USE IN YOUR ON-SITE PRESENTATION.  A laptop will be provided however speakers may also bring their personal laptop for use in the presentation.

NOTE: The purpose of the conference educational sessions is to educate participants and express ideas, not to demonstrate or sell products. Remember the best “advertisement” is to deliver a relevant, timely presentation. NO COMMERCIALS PLEASE!

Any proposed changes to the session, including adding of speakers to the presentation, must be approved by IAAO.
