Tina Stone, PPS, AAS

NCDOR Property Division Manager, Raleigh, North Carolina

CAMPAIGN BROCHURE

My name is Tina Stone, and I am running for IAAO Vice President. It has been my honor to serve IAAO for the past 23 years in several roles.

I have also had the privilege to serve with some amazing people who have influenced and mentored me both personally and professionally. It is my desire to follow in the footsteps of these mentors and continue providing great leadership to the members of IAAO.

I have over 30 years of experience in all facets of property tax. In 1989, I began my career in the Mapping Division of the Chatham County Tax Office. From there I transitioned into Business Personal Property Appraisal, and in 2007, was appointed as the Chatham County Assessor.

In 2012, I was able to advance my career and accepted the Personal Property Division Manager position with the North Carolina Department of Revenue, the oversight agency for North Carolina Assessors.

Throughout my career, I was able to continue my professional development by earning multiple certifications and obtaining the Personal Property Specialist designation (PPS) in 2006 and the Assessment Administration Specialist designation (AAS) in 2019 from the International Association of Assessing Officers.

I am the IAAO state representative for the North Carolina Association of Assessing Officers. I have served on several different committees with IAAO such as membership, ethics, and conference content committees.

I am a certified IAAO instructor and had the pleasure of serving on the IAAO Board from 2015-2017.

I was also appointed by our local Town Board of Commissioners to serve on the town Recreation Advisory Board to assist the recreation department with providing activities for our citizens, specifically the children in our community.

If elected as Vice President, my goal is to serve the members of IAAO and continue to provide the best leadership possible. My focus would be in the areas of membership and how we as leaders can bring back the excitement to be part of IAAO and encourage our members to be involved. I would also focus on education and how we can continue to provide the best educational opportunities for all members.

The main focus will always be what is best for the members of our organization and how to keep moving forward.
