For IAAO Region 2
LLOYD FUNK, CAE
Director of Assessment Services, Provincial Municipal Assessor
I am a strong advocate of the IAAO as the preeminent professional organization for assessment professionals that sets the standard for mass appraisal across North America and is internationally recognized as the unparalleled leader in the field of property assessment.
I have achieved multiple designations in property assessment including the CAE through IAAO and Accredited Assessor of Manitoba through IAAO affiliate, the Association of Assessing Officers of Manitoba (AAOM).
Through the University of British Columbia School of Business, I attained the Certificate in Real Property Assessment. I have also attained certificates as a Certified Service Manager through the Institute of Citizen-Centered Service and Senior Leadership Excellence through York University’s Schulich School of Business. I am enrolled in the University of Manitoba’s Municipal Administrator Certificate Program.
My over 27 years of experience in the field of property assessment includes 13 years as a frontline property assessor inspecting and determining assessments for residential, farm, and ICI (Industrial, Commercial and Investment) properties.
I have also had the opportunity of serving four years as Senior ICI Assessor, four years as ICI Valuation Coordinator and since 2016, the Director of Assessment Services for the Province of Manitoba. I have had the honor of serving the IAAO as a member of the Chapters and Affiliates Committee, the Membership Committee, as well as task forces of Designation Equivalencies, and Diversity and Inclusion. I am the chair for the CAE Master Exam Task Force. I have also previously served on the Executive Board of our provincial association and IAAO affiliate, the AAOM.
My goals are to increase the educational and designation opportunities for all regions of North America and internationally, and my second goal is to broaden IAAO’s presence and status as the leader in the standards of excellence in the property assessment profession.
