Using property tax incentives to spur economic and job growth often comes with a lot of questions and mixed results. The cover story this month looks at how Boston balances incentives with fiscal responsibility to create a way forward that works for everyone. The lessons in the article will benefit any jurisdiction and are worth reading and sharing. In addition, this issue introduces our new chapter in British Columbia, Canada. Please join us in welcoming them to the IAAO family!
The October F&E also contains information on big changes and updates at IAAO. Learn more about the upcoming redesign to this magazine, the new committee/task force structure for 2018 (fill out a volunteer form by Nov. 1) and staffing changes in the Library. You can read about what is covered by our new Apendium, an overview of the Body of Knowledge, as well.
We hope you find F&E and your other electronic benefits and resources valuable. Please contact us with any questions about your membership.

Thanks for reading,
Your IAAO Membership Team

P.S. Elections start Nov. 1 and ballots will be sent via email only. Visit the IAAO website to learn more about the process, candidates and proposed amendment to the Constitution.
