A
new scholarship to assist an individual underrepresented in the field
of property appraisal, assessment administration, and property tax
policy to attend IAAO’s Annual Conference & Exhibition is now
available and applications are due Monday, Aug. 23.
The
$1,500 scholarship is designed to defray registration, hotel, and
transportation fees for a member from an underrepresented demographic
group within IAAO. These demographics include, but are not limited to,
people of color, LGBTQ+, people with (dis)abilities, international, and
rural jurisdictions.
Every
year, IAAO offers scholarships to provide educational opportunities for
members. As part of the Board of Directors’ commitment to advance
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the Association and assessing
profession, funding for the new scholarship was approved beginning in
2021.
The scholarship application and additional information is available through the link above or at www.iaao.org/deischolarship. Criteria
to assist in selection of the scholarship recipient includes an
applicant’s financial need and statement outlining commitment to
Diversity & Inclusion. It is important each applicant completes all
sections of the application and submits all required materials by the
deadline.
