Remember your passport!
All United States citizens (including minors) entering Canada will need a valid U.S. Passport.  A visa is not required for U.S. citizens entering Canada from the United States.  passport(1).png

As a rule, passports should have 6 months of validity left at the conclusion of your travel to Canada. A U.S. Passport Card is only valid when crossing the U.S./Canadian border by car. It is not a valid ID for entering or exiting Canada by plane.

Attire for conference events!
Suggested attire for conference events
for attendees is business casual for all events and sessions, outside of the Closing Gala. The Welcome Reception is an indoor/outdoor event, so a light jacket may be needed.  For the Closing Gala on Wednesday night, attire for this special event is semi-formal.

Cellphones, Wi-Fi & Currency
Most U.S. cell phones will function in Canada, however your carrier may charge international rates and data plan fees for roaming while in Canada.  We strongly suggest that you contact your cell phone service provider to determine what your options (and costs) are for utilizing cell phones in Canada.

Both designated Marriott Hotels provide in-room internet free of charge to Marriott Bonvoy Rewards members. (The rewards program is free to join). Most public areas of the hotel(s) have free internet access as well. Basic (low bandwidth) Wi-Fi will be provided in the public areas of the Scotiabank Centre facility.

Most Canadian retailers and hotels will accept U.S. currency for payment but reserve the right to set their own exchange rate and will (likely) give you change in Canadian currency.  As of late August, the exchange rate: one U.S. dollar is equivalent to 1.33 Canadian dollars.
