more than $700 million across Wisconsin — potentially forcing other
taxpayers to pay more to fund local public services, a new analysis has
found. Already, nearly 60 towns, cities and villages in Wisconsin have

A

fairness of a little-known but widespread practice among Maine's
municipal assessors of giving tax breaks to homeowners for adjacent

his frustration grew, he started tracking the time he spent with each of
his direct reports — and every time he received bad feedback, he pulled
out his data and exclaimed, "But look how much time I spend with
everyone!"
