Many education fees will increase on June 1
|

IAAO
Effective
June 1, 2017, fees for several IAAO examinations, candidacy
applications and all student reference manuals (SRMs) will increase. All
applications/orders received after June 1 will be subject to the new
prices. The Retake Exam application fee will be $150 for both IAAO
members and nonmembers. The Challenge Exam application fee will be $100
for IAAO designation candidates, $150 for IAAO members and $300 for
nonmembers. The fee for the Designation Case Study Retake Exam will be
$150. The Candidacy Application fee will increase to $50. Fees for SRMs
for five-day courses will be $100 for members and $175 for nonmembers.
Fees for SRMs for workshops will be $75 for members and $150 for
nonmembers. These fees have not gone up in recent years and we
appreciate your understanding as IAAO now implements these new prices.

bill that would reduce Nebraska property taxes appears to have stalled
amid concerns from urban state senators and some farm and school groups.
Supporters said they don't believe the measure has enough support to
overcome a filibuster. Lawmakers debated the bill for roughly three
hours but stopped before reaching a vote.

government has announced that the process for the reintroduction of the
property tax regime has begun. A release issued by the Ministry of
Finance stated that "within the next week" all residential property
owners could expect to receive Valuation Return Forms in the mail.
Additionally, a full-page advertisement by the ministry sought to
highlight the "facts to note about property tax."

Supreme Court recently stopped the Quezon City government from
implementing a resolution that raises the city's real property tax rates
by 100 to 500 percent. Sitting en banc, the High Court issued a
temporary restraining order against QC Ordinance No. 2556 (Series of
2016), which approved the fair market value of lands and basic unit
construction costs for buildings and other structures towards a revision
of real property assessments in Quezon City.
