International Research Symposium Set for April 5-6, 2018 in Prague
The International Association of Assessing Officers will present the 12th International Research Symposium, April 5-6, 2018 in Prague, Czech Republic.
The IAAO International Research Symposium is an annual event offering an exploration of the intersection of public policy and mass appraisal standards, guidance, and implementation challenges. The Symposium offers an exchange of knowledge and emerging technology trends for continuous improvement of land administration and property tax systems world-wide. The 2017 Symposium took place in Madrid, Spain and 2016 Symposium was in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
In 2018, the Symposium will include a focus on the issues surrounding data in the development of valuation estimates and the challenges data brings to government officials across the world. Included among the offerings of the agenda are presentations of technology advancements in data collection and information verification for everyday use, new and improved valuation and property tax systems across the world, and the challenges and solutions for the appraisal of energy efficient buildings.
Prior to the two-day Symposium, on Wednesday April 4th, 2018, the IAAO will also present an optional half-day forum, Improving Valuations with Big Data, Open Data and Data Mining. This half-day forum will explore the latest developments in data augmentation by Professor Michael McCord Ph.D., Ulster University, Northern Ireland, IAAO Valuation Research Project Manager, Paul Bidanset, Ph.D. candidate and IAAO Research Manager, Margie Cusack. IAAO professional designees will earn 14.0 hours of recertification credit for the Symposium and 3.0 hours for the half-day forum. If you are participating in other recertification and continuing education programs, please bring the forms or letters to the event. We cannot guarantee that the credits will be honored by other entities. Anyone seeking continuing education credit will need to submit their request as an individual.
