Assessment for Non-assessors

Assessment for Non-assessors is an education program presented for persons employed in assessment offices, but who are not involved in appraisal of property. The class will provide a broad overview of the basic functions of an assessor’s office, touching on data collection and appraisal, but also describing the assessment calendar and how the assessment function fits into the total local government structure. In addition, such basic management functions such as budgeting and personnel management will be addressed.
Conference registration is not required, and the fee is $25. To register

Instructor: Larry Clark, CAE
Larry Clark is the Director of Strategic Initiatives for IAAO and he joined the assessment industry in 1980 as County Appraiser for Crawford County, Kansas. In 1984, with the reappraisal starting in Kansas, he left Crawford County to manage the in-house reappraisal project in Wyandotte County. After completing the reappraisal, he assumed the position of County Appraiser for Wyandotte County before joining the staff of Johnson County in 1993. Larry retired from county government in December of 2007 before joining the staff of IAAO in January of 2008.
