IAAO

Sad news from IAAO

It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anne Winter, our beloved IAAO Membership Director. I know many of you knew Anne, her very positive outlook, her creativity, her drive and determination. To say that she will merely be missed would be an understatement of huge proportion. The staff is devastated at the loss, but of course no more so than her family. She leaves behind a daughter Eva, and son Max, ages 10 and 12 respectively.

-On behalf of the IAAO Executive Board, I express our shock and deep sorrow at the loss of our vibrant, talented and dedicated Director Anne Winter who we all loved and worked with. We join IAAO staff, members and Anne's family in mourning her departure from us. Anne was so integral to IAAO - it leaves a huge hole in our fabric.

We appreciate Anne's tremendous achievements that benefit IAAO members and the organization, and acknowledge that the Membership department she created and led is the best we can find.

With deepest condolences to Anne's family.

Josephine Lim, Ph.D, RI
IAAO President

-Anne was one of the most positive people that I know. As an employer, you hope that you’ll find someone who not only embraces the monumental task at hand, but also enjoys all of the many other things that are involved… the members, the committees, supervision of staff, interaction with so many people. Anne was always looking forward to the next new idea. At her very first interview I was completely sold. She took the IAAO Membership Program to an entirely new level of excellence. She recently was awarded the Kansas City Society of Association Executives Professional Excellence Award. It was WELL deserved. She’s left an indelible mark on IAAO and all of Kansas City.

She is greatly missed.

Lisa Daniels,
IAAO Executive Director

Her funeral service was held Tuesday, October 27 at the Muehlebach Funeral Home, 6800 Troost Ave Kansas City, MO

Fond memories and condolences for the family may be left here.

A special fund has been set up and endorsed by Anne's family for those who wish to contribute to her children’s care and continued wellbeing and may be accessed here: www.anniewinter.org.
